My mother and I arrived home late last night. My bum is still feeling a little sore from the 3-hour ride back home. We felt so groggy from lack of sleep. We spent two nights and three days at the hospital to look after my Aunt.
I can see from my Aunt’s eyes how happy she was when we arrived. Our hearts were torn though everytime she grimaces in pain. She had bronchitis prior to surgery and that made her life so difficult. I can feel the pain everytime she coughs hard enough. I do admire my mother for masking the happiest face the entire time. She tried to be a strong girl. But when the Aunt wasn’t looking, she was crying real hard. She can’t imagine the once strong woman who took care of her is now down, sick and helpless in the hospital bed.
Before we went home, my Aunt’s doctors handed out to my Mom the discharge slip. The bill was then arranged and settled. Windy believed we were ripped off for the huge amount. I have to tell him that this is the Philippines and medical care isn’t given much priority by the government. The only consolation we got was that she had the best doctors around. She had 6 medical doctors who specialized in different fields (2 OBgyne, Urologist, Pathologist, Anesthesiologist and Internist)
I am sorry I wasn’t able to capture a single photo during our trip. I am very much grateful though for all the single prayers offered by concerned hearts and souls.

Lainybelle,
As my Muslim friends are wont to exclaim, “ALHAMDULLILAH” which is “PRAISE THE LORD”, it is great to know that your Aunt came through the surgery thumbs-up.
And yes, I believe that the need to conduct the Biopsy is a rip-off. And yes again, I have been made aware of real cases where the poor helpless sick person in the Phil had to run a gauntlet of tests that were not in anyway connected to his/her ailment. RIP OFF!
We need Atty. Eli to champion this cause in the Phil. Philippines own “Ralph Nader”!
I wish Aunt a speedy recovery. Don’t allow her to do anything strenuous. You know how STUBBORN old ladies are. Hahahahaha

That’s quite a brilliant litany, Windy but as usual, you’re right. Thank you for the prayers said for my Aunt, Windy.
Oh yeah! I hope Atty. Eli will give his pro bono services, LOL!

You said it, Sis. Nothing can beat the power of prayers.
Thanks for loving the new look Sis. I owe it all to no other than the man himself, Windy, hehe!

I am hoping for your mother’s completely recovery on her operation. If there’s is anyone who you can lean, the person Above is the only one you can count on. Inner strength and keeping a positive thoughts are needed to not stumble if there is a great challenge that is coming our way. Keep the faith.
