How Motherhood Has Changed Me

Motherhood has primarily changed everything in my life and largely, in ways I did not expect. It altered my perspectives and thought processes. I used to be driven and motivated by my own needs and wants; but now I must admit that they mostly revolve around my child’s needs.

God knows how I have worked harder to be more patient, thoughtful, kind, caring, and gentle. I did not realise how selfish I was until motherhood showed me how selfless I can be.

I am not always successful at living by those virtues but I’d like to believe that I am better than I used to be. Make no mistake about it; I am far from perfect but I certainly am a work in progress everyday.

Motherhood has also helped me to relate better to anything about children. My instincts have sharpened and my spirit has strengthened. Similarly, being a mother has helped me to better understand and emphatize with my very own mother. However, I regret that I haven’t been a perfect daughter.😩 But that would be another story.

Truly, I cannot imagine what my life would be like had I not had a child. I have always wished and prayed to become a mother and God has been so good to grant one of my heart’s desires. It’s indeed one of the most beautiful blessings that God has graciously bestowed on me.

The intensity of the love that I feel for my child is simply indescribable. I could not fathom its depth and I could not find the perfect adjectives to describe how he has actually made me feel. I feel blessed and challenged as a mother!

Motherhood is the most rewarding, awful, beautiful, heartbreaking, awesome, horrible, joyous thing imaginable that has ever happened to me and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else in this world!

We Prayed, He Answered: We Are Pregnant!

It is with great excitement and joy that my better half and I share with you all God’s loving grace and mercy- we are expecting our first child! Finally, our home will be growing by two little feet early next year 🙂

Mummy and Daddy To-Be

Mummy and Daddy To-Be

We can assure you that this beautiful news being withheld up to this very moment has been nothing more than us protecting what is most sacred and precious- a new life that beats and was far from reaching its 12-week milestone.

Thanks to our family and friends who have respected our privacy over the past crucial weeks; allowing us the privilege and honor every couple deserves- to share the wonderful news ourselves. It is such a beautiful and special moment and we couldn’t be any happier!

To our prayer warriors, thank you so much! Your prayers meant so much to our family especially in my most fretting moments. To those special people who have shared our wonderful highs and subterranean lows, we are grateful for having you in our lives!

We give back all the glory, honor, and praises to our Lord God Almighty for bestowing in us this precious gift of life. For this child we prayed; and the Lord has granted us what we asked of Him (I Samuel 1:27). Indeed, prayers can move mountains and He has made all things possible!

Our Journey to Forever Begins

It is only at my blog’s platform that I thought it best to share for the first time our wedding video highlights. It’s not as good and impressive like most cinematic videos out there but we had to make do with whatever limited capabilities our supplier has got. Like most weddings, it was not devoid of flaws and mishaps. But the sanctity of the Marriage Vows was pure and perfect. After all, it is not about the wedding but the marriage that matters the most.

For a new emigrant like myself with very little time in my hands for the wedding preparations, looking out for suppliers in a First World and expensive country was no mean feat. I barely had no idea how and where to start. I felt so lost and in total confusion which ones to book for appointments. I literally was groping in the dark! I only relied mostly on outputs and internet reviews. With the help of our entourage, I was able to pull it through. I can only be grateful for all the support they had extended to me during those stressful and crucial times.

Watching the video all over again brought back the memories of that special day. I wanted to relish at that incredible moment and cherish it forever.

It is just the beginning of our long journey to forever. Be with us as we sojourn together!

A Love So Divinely Designed Part 2

I previously published a short post about my cousin who was about to get married last week. It was entitled A Love So Divinely Designed. She is now a humble wife of a minister from the church and I feel very happy for her.

Her wedding was beautiful- she was a stunning bride and her better half was a dashing groom. The videography was impressive.

Please allow me to share it to you:

A Love So Divinely Designed

When our family had our annual reunion in 2011 at my mother’s hometown, I could still vividly recall my cousin giddily letting us know that she was in the process of knowing someone a lot better.

As the days go by, she related, that she was getting fonder of him as they share almost similar things in life. More than all, she likes that they hit it intellectually.

As a person, my cousin is an achiever in her own right. She is a Licensed Radiology Technician who used to work at St. Lukes Medical Center but decided to give it up and enrolled in the Law School while at the same time teaching at the Davao Doctors College. In between all of them, she also works as the Operations Manager of the family owned Medical Clinic and Diagnostic Center in Davao. With her personal achievements, she can not ask for anything more except for a man whom she will love and will love her in return with the same devotion.

We were sincerely happy for her when we learned that she got the answers to her prayers. My personal knowledge of her lovestory is very limited. However, suffice it to say that her lovestory is divinely inspired.

She is set to marry not only to an ordinary member of the church but a Church Minister at that. Being a Church Minister not only entails clean-living but they also have huge responsibilities. It means dedicating and committing their entire lives to the Church for the greater glory of God.

[pullquote]The man who finds a wife finds a treasure;
and he receives favor from the LORD (Proverbs 18: 22).[/pullquote]

My cousin knew first hand that all her personal achievements shall take a backseat and she will then become the right hand of her future husband- a plain housewife that supports her husband in all his spiritual endeavors and both of them shall be working together in the Church- all for the love of God.

Sweet!

Sweet!

It is indeed a real blessing to have found a love so deep and genuine.

Simply beautiful!

I would have loved to be physically present when my cousin finally gets hitched tomorrow but even when I am not, I am around in spirit. There is no doubt in our minds that she is in very good hands and both of them will be at peace with the Lord by their side.

My husband and I here in Australia would like to extend our sincere well wishes and our warmest congratulations to a very special pair. May you always find in each other the love, laughter and happiness that only God-loving partners in life share!

Cheers to forever!
