Special Birthday Presents from the City that Never Sleeps

Like she always does, Ate J never fails to send out her birthday presents to me regardless of the circumstances. I am aware she is in the thick of things of late and sending out a birthday present my way was least expected from her. I was very touched with her thoughtful and sweet gesture.

The birthday surprise my have been foiled because of a missed delivery.

However, it did not fail to bring a smile to my face and unsuppressed joy to my heart. I felt so loved and special by a person that I haven’t even met yet in the flesh. It is incredibly heartwarming that a special virtual friendship like this could exist.

Please allow me to brag a little bit about the gifts I’ve got overseas for my birthday πŸ™‚

All these gifts were very well thought of long before my birthday. I have surmised the warnings in our private conversations were well meaning.

It goes like this:

“Please don’t get too big or else your feet will go bigger. Ikaw din! Hahaha!”

Now I completely understand why.

I can’t wait to show off all these lovelies πŸ˜‰

Meanwhile, I am sending my biggest virtual hugs and love to the most generous person there is in bloglandia. Thank you so much Ate J for the gifts and the special friendship. May God always bless your kind and generous heart.

Love yah always!

Sweet Birthday Surprise from the City that Never Sleeps

My Prince celebrated his birthday more than two months ago but I never managed to publish anything about it just yet. I have actually wrote one lengthy post that’s been sitting on my draft but I have never found the time to finalize it up until now. There are numerous things I am supposed to write about across my blogs. But more often than not, I encounter β€œbrain fart episodes.” Need I say more? πŸ˜‰ Apart from that, time is always scarce as I have really been trying my best to get 7-8 hours of sleep so I had no choice but to put blogging on the backseat.

On his birthday, one sweet gesture plastered the biggest smile on my husband’s face. It was certainly not expected but it was such the sweetest and nicest gesture my Prince had ever received. And what do you know? He received it exactly on his natal day.

I can never recall having mentioned about my husband’s upcoming birthday but I so appreciate that little details like this had never escaped her detective eyes. Hahaha! I am assuming it could be at this blog. Did I say that right, Ate J? πŸ˜‰

Seriously, we were lost for words. The gesture is sincerely appreciated. And to think we are yet to meet the sender in the flesh! How awesome blogging can be! We get to know and be acquainted with people we hardly even met yet but we are able to forge strong relationships with them. That really amazed me to the core!

I may have never mentioned here at this blog but my husband adores Gary Valenciano and his soulful music. He has got a massive collection of his music and he knows most of them. He even knows a lot of them more than I do. We initially planned of watching his concert in Sydney but tickets have been sold-out a month before his concert.

My Prince was extremely surprised and was grinning from ear to ear when he got hold of the birthday card. It was customized which made it even more extra special.

Thank you very much Ate J of Juliana’s Lair and to your loving and supportive husband Kuya F. You both rock! πŸ˜‰

Eyeball With Bregie

For the past few years, I have been such a procrastinator in regularly updating my blogs. Talk about indolence!!! No more lame excuses this time. LOL!

Anyhow, my second meet up with a blogpal at the same time a sister in Christ is worth talking about in my blog. I do love to celebrate friendships at its best and “Ate Bing” as I fondly call her is one of those people I was so happy to have forged genuine friendships with.

I didn't realized we've both had braces at the time till I saw these photos again in my files. LOL!

She was one of the few friends I have had when I plunged into the realms of blogging circa 2007. She has been my constant chatmate at anytime during those years. She also loves to tweak some photos and do adobe magic whenever she’s asked.

I consider her one of the Ate’s and sister I never really had.

When she came to visit Gensan in June 2011, we asked her to stay at home. I can’t exactly remember her purpose of visiting the City. All I could recall is that we went out for dinner at Grab A Crab Seafood Restaurant, she stayed for the night at home and I cooked spaghetti for her, hahaha! πŸ˜‰

There was another meet up that followed suit after this but that will be published next time πŸ™‚

Putting A Face Into A Name: Rovie Aguilar

I can’t exactly recall how we have come across each other’s blogs but if my memory would serve me right, it was during the period when my itch to publish comments at my favorite blogs got the better of me. I would often read her comments at a common blogpal’s posts. Out of curiousity, I would also take a peek at her blogs and make my presence felt by virtue of publishing comments. My visits were always reciprocated with warmth and friendship.

And that’s when we hit if off!

Honestly, I never thought that she would ever become interested to make friends with me for some reasons we both know, haha! But I was proven wrong.

I appreciate the fact that she has always been nice and genuine. Over the short span of time I have known her online through her blogs and the rare times we privately spoke to each other, I just know that she is a good person at heart.

I was honored when the day finally came for us to meet. We never thought it can be made possible but God made a way. It was not the most appropriate place and time for an eyeball, but yes, we’ve met in a wake of Teh Claire’s nephew.

It was one of the happiest days in my life to have finally met in the flesh a doting Mom to her Unica Hija Bella, loving wife, daughter, wonderful friend and blogger- all rolled into one- Teh Rovie of Anything About Bella.

With Teh Rovs

As we were talking about blogging stuff in my cousin’s car, my cousin can’t help but mutter:

“It’s like you’ve known each other for so long!”

Indeed, the feeling of being bonded to an online friend is no different from having a real, genuine friend offline. I must know. I have quite a few genuine online friends where I haven’t even met yet, but I can feel in my heart that there is always that strong mutual bond between us.

Teh Rovs, thanks for taking time out to see me in the flesh in between your Mommy duties. I truly appreciate the fact that I have you for a friend.

Cheers and see you again in the future!

A Recycled Birthday Card for Recel

Each time this day of the year comes during the height of my blogging journey many eon years ago (LOL!), Windy and I would always make it a point that a digicard is prepared and all set for publication by 12MN Philippine time. This is how I value and relish the celebration of a person’s natal day especially when that person has always been a special guest at all my blogs. When I say “special guest”, that blogger must be someone special that frequents my blogs by virtue of publishing comments, may it be in agreement or disagreement to whatever I write. By that, I understand that the blogger also puts up with all my craps. LOL!

I must have been someone special that this birthday celebrant always makes it to the First Commenter of mostly all my published articles in the past. As my way of returning the favor, I always see to it that I come up with something special on her birthday.

For her birthday in 2010, Windy came up with this digicard:

I am aware that she has been endowed with material blessings and the month of March has been so good to her and her entire family so to speak. So I hope a simple recycled digicard from her birthday in 2011 would suffice for this year πŸ˜‰ How is that for a virtual birthday celebration? πŸ˜‰

Tips:You can change the code before run.

Happy birthday, Sis Recel! Like I have umpteen times wished you in the previous years, may you continue to be a blessing to others as much as you have been in mine. May you have a meaningful and blessed birthday!
