The Mon Tulfo vs. Raymart and Claudine Santiago brawl at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport yesterday has become viral. It is nothing but a show of shameless act for both parties especially for the Santiago’s. The YouTube video showed Raymart and Claudine and their friends ganging Mon Tulfo. The reason? Claudine’s nagging at a ground stewardess over her unclaimed baggage. What a brat!

They are known to be public figures here in the Philippines. Mon Tulfo is a publicist which his family is known famous for. And the couple, Raymart and Claudine, are famous celebrities of the Kapuso Channel – GMA7. Both parties gave different stories when they were interviewed after the bout. You wouldn’t know who the heck is really telling the truth.

They are all over the news now and we don’t have a choice but to hear some more of them for the coming days. Sigh. Our country have a lot more bigger problems than this, right?

Venturing in a business is not as easy as 1, 2, 3 and A, B, C. It’s something that needed thorough planning, a good amount of money and broad knowledge about the business. These, for me, are the main secret to success.

Thorough planning. It is always a great idea to plan ahead before putting things in action. Business is a risk and nobody who ventures in a business wanted it to end up into a misfortune. Unless the owner is able to have it covered with errors and omissions insurance cost. Otherwise, make a good plan on managing the business and always think of better ways to make it profitable.

A good amount of money is needed so that you can buy whatever is needed to start your business. You should have everything that you need for your business from the least to the most important part of it.

Knowledge is the key and the most important thing to make the business successful. If you have enough knowledge about what you are getting yourself into, you will be able to save a lot of money for getting things done by yourself and not rely on someone else’s knowledge and skills.

These are the things I came to realize now that I’m thinking about venturing into one. Nah! It’s going to take a while though. I’ll let you all know when I have everything I need for my business.

This is a belated Happy Birthday post to my ever groovy and fabulous Aunt Rose who turned 52 on May 1st!

I want a new laptop, a washing machine and a new closet but I can’t buy them yet. I have a homecoming that I’m preparing for. I’m coming home for my nephew’s 4th birthday. I haven’t seen him and my family for more than a year now. It’s payback time especially for my nephew whom I haven’t given any treats for quite a while now. I have heard so much stories about him being adorable and naughty at the same time. I’m still going to be nice to him and might even spoil him when I get home. I’ll be seeing more of the Retail System at the mall in GenSan for sure.

As for my wants and needs, they will have to wait after homecoming!

Many of us get a lot out of church. I know I do! It’s like having an extension of my family to offer me spiritual support and help when I need it. Since I get a lot out of it, it makes sense that I want to give back from time to time. At first I was shy about lending a hand, until I realized that ministers and other church workers are always happy to have help, even from a “non-expert” like me. Here are some ways I discovered for helping out around church.

• Lend Your Professional Skills: Perhaps you’re not a theological expert or a religious studies major. That doesn’t mean you don’t have something to offer. Consider your professional skills or even hobbies that are useful. I offered to lend my graphic design skills to the church for the weekly pamphlet that goes with the sermon. Whether you’re an expert money manager, carpenter, web designer, or flower arranger, keeping a church going takes a lot of upkeep and there’s probably some way you can contribute. Online Christian Colleges has more information if you’re thinking of taking your professional skills even further with a degree from a Christian institution.
• Volunteer in Ministry: All churches have outreach agendas and in-church activities, such as potlucks, picnics, and Bible study sessions. There are always logistical ways to contribute to ministry, from driving the church van to cooking up your famous casserole for the next get together.
• Provide Childcare: Children’s ministry is a large part of many churches. Childcare is also often necessary so parents have a little spiritual time to themselves. Consider ways in which you can help out with leading the youngsters in your church community. Check out Christian Counseling Degree for details about youth counseling and educational programs.
• Collect Food & Necessary Items: Churches often perform vital community outreach, such as stocking food banks and collecting Christmas presents for needy families. The good thing is that there’s no way to have too much of these items, and any help you provide will go directly back to the community.
• Fund-Raise: Expanding the spiritual reach of the church often requires fundraising. From mission trips to building new fellowship halls, donations keep the church strong and growing. If you have good networking and public relations skills, why not spend some time encouraging members of the church and community to donate to a worthy cause?
• Lend Musical Talent: Music is a key component of praise in most churches. You don’t have to be a concert pianist or opera singer to help add to the atmosphere of praise. Ask your church’s musical director if your particular talents would be of use.

Lainy’s youngest brother, Mark who also is the Kuerdas Band’s major vocalist suffered from severe pneumonia a week ago. Thank God, they were able to find out about it before it has gotten worse. I don’t want to imagine the worst part. But he’s alright now. He’s recovering from the illness and just have to be careful and well-disciplined with taking care of himself this time. I hope he’d quit smoking.

Mark’s birthday is fast approaching. I wonder what gift Lainy have in mind. I also haven’t thought about the gift for him yet. I’ll be home on his natal day. Will he be happy if I give him a lexicon desktop recording studio? It’s a bit pricey but I guess it’s worth it. I will have to ask Lainy and Aunt Rose to share with the expense, I guess! LOL!

Mark was never hospitalized until this pneumonia struck him. This better serve a big deal of a lesson to him. Or else, he won’t be able to get back on stage with the band if he don’t take care about his health.

We are going to hold a Sports Festival at our Church locale on Tuesday, May 1st. My friends at Church and myself are going to be early on the venue to take care of the cleaning and to fix whatever is needed fixing including Tube Bending or even fixing the rings on the basketball courts that we’re scheduled to use.

It’s going to be another very busy day for sure. Thank God my vacation leave for Monday is approved. I’d be looking rested for the event!

We all hope and pray that the activity will be a successful one. All to God’s glory!

My plane ticket for my homecoming next month is booked! I am so happy and excited! I can’t wait to see all my folks back in GenSan!!! I just hope I’d be able to surprise my Mom. I know very well that Lainy is not going to tell my Mother about this. Will you, dear cuz? hehe.

I wasn’t able to book a “seat on sale” from Cebu Pacific but the cost of the one I got is fair enough. It’s not cheap but neither expensive. It’s actually my first time to book my plane ticket online by myself. I used to ask Lainy, Michelle and some friends of mine to do it for me because I don’t have a credit card to use for online transactions. I’m so glad Cebu Pacific now have other payment methods that I can use for online booking! I will have more chances of being able to catch one of those cheap – on sale plane ride!

I just can’t hide my excitement! Lainy, you better be ready with your treats, aight??? LOL! I’m coming home soon!!!

My fast-paced life here in Manila most of the time burn me out. I go to work and have to deal with the traffic and the crowd. When I go home in the morning, I get to see too much dirt on the streets and can’t scorn at the bus drivers who kept honking their buses. Personally, the honking agitates me especially that I’m tired from working all night. But there’s nothing you can do about them.

And while on my way home, I can’t help but pity those people who live on the streets. There are even poor little children on their worn out clothes crossing the dangerous streets. It makes me wonder how they’re able to survive the heat during the day. And how they are able to seem to sleep so soundly on the corner of the streets. Some of them may have dreamt of finding cheap silver dollars so that they can atleast get out of the situation they are in. Our government don’t even know how to fix this. I don’t think they really care.

These things really make me sad and most of the time make me miss my province all the more. I don’t believe when people say that life in the province is hard because I’ve seen the exact opposite of how a lot of people live here in Manila. The laid-back life in the province is way better than the life here in the big city.
