If there is one person that I wish I could see everyday of my life, that would be my father… I must say it is so true that you will only realize the worth of a person when he is gone. I could still vividly recall how funny and sweet my father can be, not to mention exasperatingly strict. Yeah… That is why it took me a long time to have my first bf. I was so afraid of him. He might just be unaware of it (hehehe)… He was overly protective. But I knew it was for my own welfare. No parents would want their children harmed.
My father is very funny, he has a real good sense of humor. But often, he gets under my skin when he makes faces or always having fun at my expense. Not realizing that he is doing it just to make “lambing” to me. And how I hate it when he smokes! And how I miss those things that he did for me and our family…

If I could just turn back the hands of time…
I will no longer argue with him…
I will not insist things just to have my own way, as if I always knew everything…
I won’t tell lies (white) for getting home late…
I won’t make excuses for all my shortcomings, lapses, or failures…
I will laugh my heart out with all his jokes…
Sing along with his all-time favorite songs…
If only God would allow him to be with us again…
For him to know how much I’ve missed and love him…
The best time to let the person know you care about them is NOW
When they are still able to communicate with you…
When they are still able to feel and appreciate that you care about them.
Let your feelings show and just let it flow…
When you look back, you could just say to yourself:
“I was able to spend worthwhile moments with the people I care… No regrets, only wonderful memories… “

Oh! Lainy,
I thought it meant me.
But since it is your good dear Papa, I will respectfully allow it and give precedence.
What on earth was he doing at that age on roller skates? Chasing your Mom?
Bwaaaaaahahahahaha

Wahhhhhhh you made me cry on your entry. Papa passed away eight years ago and yeah how I wish I could turn back time too. We have the same sentiments, I did the same things to my father too. He was protective but very loving. Thanks for sharing Lainy!

No good parents would ever want to harm their kids. I am sorry about your father passing away, but at least you got to know that you once had a wonderful and amazing father. I am sure in your heart he will always be alive.

You said it, Adin.
He’s not a perfect father but he did all he could to be one. I am going to visit your own Nostalgia feature soon.
Hugs!

Waaaah tear-jerker this post is, Sis! I don’t know, I am the most sensitive one when it comes to reminiscing those awesome moments with dads. Thanks to Windy, my drama has ended with a bwahahaha! Lol. Pareho man ta’g kaagi with fathers gud, except I’m the youngest in his eyes and your the oldest. And except for that line you have there which I’ll quote,
“I will not insist things just to have my own way, as if I always knew everything…”
Wa man ko kaagi nga ni-argue gud ko sa iyaha. I thought he was too good and right to be argued. Lol. I depended on him on almost all things man pud so wala ko naka-argue. Haha.
Now I can see this scene in my daughter and her dadi. Mag-argue na gani sila, moingon dayon ang gamatoy nga “see dad, I can do it. Because I know everything!” Vocal kaayo ba. Ingnon sa amahan nga “no, you don’t know everything. Only Jesus knows everything.” Mo-insist jud nga “yes, dad, i know everything”. pag-ingon sa amahan nga “no, triz, you don’t!” taas na kaayo sila ma-abtan. ako ray mo-stop sa ilang argument by saying, “anak, you don’t know everything. dadi knows many things. you know quite a lot of things, but you don’t know everything.” ako na pud iyang i-argue. pag-ask naku sa iya ug “do you know how to make your own food? can you cook all by yourself?” katubang gud sya nga “no mang. you’re right, i don’t know everything!”
waaaaah mamahood and papahood at its best!

Feeling bright man gud kaayo ko Sis mao na nga magsige mi ug argue. Kana laging feeling nako kabalo nako tanan.
Thanks for sharing about your Darling daughter’s charm and wit. She’s one lucky girl to have great parents like you.
