I Have More Reasons to Celebrate

I am overjoyed! Apart from the celebration of Lainy’s Musings’ blogoversary that’s fast approaching, the warm and generous support of blogpals who were not by any means shy in sponsoring the prizes, God gave me more reasons to celebrate.

A month ago, I was introduced by Uncle Che to a very interesting website. It sure piqued my interest. What a good timing because I was looking for opportunities to be able to have additional income apart from blogging. He gave me the link to which he believes I could perform the job well. He encouraged me to apply for that particular job. So I did. I have very little confidence with it as I wasn’t too familiar about the organization and how it works. But Uncle Che never stopped encouraging and egging me on. Though I am aware that I will be going through a long and hard process with the series of online exams and interviews, I still tried my luck. Uncle Che was with me all the way. Windy was also there rooting for me non-stop as well as the rest of my love ones.

I encountered some difficulties though when I had my first interview via Skype. The mic jack of my desktop wasn’t working. I can hear the person from the other line but no sound can be heard from my end. It was one important interview. With half a day to prepare for it, I had no other recourse but to borrow the obsolete lappy of a family friend. I can be heard alright but I wasn’t aware until the last few minutes prior my interview that the connection speed was like a snail! Oh Gosh! What a time to act up on me! Windy scolded me and said for an interview as important as that, I could have borrowed Star’s new lappy, LOL!

I had no choice but to proceed with the interview. I can only hope that the speed won’t be as slow as a snail the entire time. The interview lasted for twenty (20) minutes. You know how it’s like with job interviews. The usual questions were: Tell me something about yourself. What is your educational qualification? Tell me about your working experiences? Tell me what you know about the job you’re applying for? Do you have an experience working for a call center? (I wonder why he asked that, LOL!), etc.

I wasn’t too positive about nailing the job. After 24 hours of not hearing from them, I lost any glimmer of hope. I was happy to know though that Noela and Uncle Che made it. It was only when I opened my dashboard and saw the message yesterday that my outlook changed. And why not?

I am happy to inform that you have met the selection criteria for the Moderator position. The start date for this assignment will be towards the end of March.

We request you to go thru the following document and indicate your shift availability. We will be allocating you to an appropriate shift based on your preference and the project’s business needs. The shift schedules are in PST. Please refer to attached spreadsheet for timezone conversion to your local timezones.

You will receive your formal offer before the start of the job. Once you accept this offer, you will go through a brief training period for about 7 days before starting your shift.

I was so happy and ecstatic! I chose the 8PM-12 AM shift, 7 days. I immediately informed my fiance and he was too happy for me! I also informed my Mom via SMS. Everyone seems so happy for me, hahaha! My mother asked me if she too could apply for the job, LOL! I answered her on the negative, haha! That was so harsh of me

Windy and Uncle Che were also very happy I nailed the job. Windy sent a congratulatory SMS

Honestly, I still don’t know what to expect. I just want to do good at this job and eventually work with them in a long-term basis. I can only hope I would be able to manage my time very well.
