SM City in Gensan

The street signs would tell you that there is a huge project that is still under construction.

There are actually a lot of road signs and No Trespassing Signs in that particular street. If you are not from the city, you might wonder what this hullabaloo is all about.

Oh well!

I can only say that the on-going construction of SM Mall here in the City only depicts it’s growth and development. The construction has been on going for a year now.

SM City in Gensan

The constituents had been looking forward for the mall opening sometime in the first quarter of 2012. Hans Sy of SM Prime Holdings said that SM Mall Complex here in the city is the biggest of its kind in Mindanao, which will occupy 90, 000 sq. meters of floor space of the 6-hectare property leased by the Salazar family.

Apart from the construction of the mall, SM Prime holdings also had widened San Miguel Street where it is going to be the main street of the mall.

San Miguel Street is now open for the riding public of the City. While the SM construction is still on-going, SM Prime Holdings also donated the 52.5 million peso drainage system to the city. They are currently constructing their own Wastewater Treatment Facility to ensure that the water is safe from any type of bacteria coming from Sarangani Bay. This is actually an agreement between the city and the SM Prime Holdings thus the latter was granted a tax-break of 7 years.

We all can’t wait for the mall opening very soon. The constituents are very excited for the city’s development to unfold by virtue of SM City in Gensan.
