I won’t be going far for my Tuesday Travel’s Festival Feature this week. Being a proud General, I can only boast of our very own Tuna Festival which happens every September of each year. This is in commemoration of the City’s 43rd Charter Anniversary. The week-long celebration gives focus on the commodity which made Gensan popular from all over as the “Tuna Capital of the Philippines.”
While some may refer to tuna as a stinking fish, we feel proud of it because it brought lots of jobs to the city’s constituents and most of the city’s revenues came from the tuna industry.
Some of the important activities that were lined up for this year were the Sashimi Night and National Tuna Congress.
The organizers of Tunafest never stops in its effort in making the festival not only a celebration amongst the locals but for it to achieve global awareness and fame as well.

Stinky daw ang Tuna? But every fish is!!! Tuna is the only fish that keeps my table going here in America kay wala may available nga tamban, bolinao, galonggong, pidlayan, lapu-lapo, ug uban pa. Hahaha. Tuna ra jud tawon ang madali-dali. Napura jud ko ug barilis diha sa GenSan katong nakaanha ko diha ba. Haaay ka-lami sa panga! LOL
Visiting for TT, Sis! I’ve been to a HOT AIR BALLOON FEST for the first time and I’m sharing the photos I got!
