Working On Semana Santa

Holy Week or Semana Santa is going to be observed by the faithful Roman Catholics next week. Businesses and most of the establishments here in the Philippines will temporarily shut down their operations starting Wednesday. It’s going to be another long weekend holiday for most Filipinos.

A lot of people are set to go home to their respective provinces and spend time with their loved ones. Some are going to travel in places they haven’t been to. They should read gps reviews online to get the right gps to install in their cars so that they won’t get lost during their travel to a new place.

I’ll be one of those “workaholics” who’s not on vacation leave during this time of the year. :) I work in an American company and we don’t observe Semana Santa. I’m not a Roman Catholic anyway.

I don’t feel sad not being able to travel nor go home to GenSan. I’m even glad to take advantage of the double pays during the holidays here in the Philippines. Besides, I’m saving some money for my homecoming next month. I’m excited about that already.

For this Holy Week, I’ll be glad to travel to and from work without enduring the pain of getting stuck in traffic. :) I’ll be spending more time with my Kido since he don’t have work for a week. I just hope I won’t get stuck at the processions on the streets and won’t come across men who self-flagellate (those who whip themselves with sticks or switches). I don’t like some blood splattering on the streets from those men.

Anyway, to those who are travelling, I hope you guys are going to have a safe trip! :) Enjoy!
